<div id="job-source-10" class="job-source-10"> <div id="details-info" class="tab-pane active"> <dl><dt>REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES</dt> <dd><p/><div style="text-align: justify;"><strong>The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Professional Standards Administrative Assistant.</strong><br/><br/>An exciting and rewarding opportunity awaits you with the Professional Standards/Human Rights Section of Broward County. This section is dedicated to investigating employment, housing and public accommodations discrimination, ethics, Wage Recovery, Living Wage, and Cone of Silence violations. The Section oversees 3 Advisory Boards. The ADA/HIPAA component investigates violations of HIPAA regulations, reviews employee ADA accommodations requests, and ensures compliance with the ADA for those seeking access to County programs, services, activities, or facilities.<br/><ul><li>Interacts with the public, County staff and officials, business people, media personnel, officials and staff from other governmental entities, or vendors in order to obtain goods/services; assists them in using Department services, equipment, programs, resources, and/or facilities, collecting fees, answering questions, or identifying their service needs.</li><li>Conducts intake, responding to walk-ins, phone inquiries and referrals from agencies and external entities.</li><li>Processes Wage Recovery complaints subject to review by the Professional Standards Specialists.</li><li>Creates and maintains a variety of databases and spreadsheets in order to capture and manipulate data and/or facilitate preparation of a variety of reports.</li><li>Composes/prepares a variety of correspondence, notifications, applications, forms, meeting minutes, reports, and related documents in order to communicate information to staff, County, State or Federal officials, and/or the public.</li><li>Receives and distributes correspondence, mail and related documents.</li><li>Maintains, tracks and reports performance measures on a quarterly basis.</li><li>Manages case openings, closings and tracking.</li><li>Assist with office outreach efforts.</li><li>Assist with compiling pertinent information for investigations and standard record-keeping purposes.</li><li>Receive and respond to inquiries from County agencies, employees and the general public.</li><li>Coordination of advisory board meetings and activities.</li><li>Archives and purges expired files.</li><li>Develops a variety of forms in order to facilitate/standardize information gathering, compilation, and/or retrieval, facilitate order/request processing, and/or to facilitate audit compliance.</li><li>Sets up a variety of files in order to facilitate case or work management and tracking and facilitate storage and retrieval of information.</li><li>Contacts appropriate personnel in the field in order to facilitate timely response to citizen complaints, notify supervisors of urgent situations/issues needing their attention and/or to obtain information regarding work status/schedules.</li><li>Proofreads printouts, summary reports, or on-screen data in order to identify data entry errors.</li><li>Proofreads, scans, copies, and edits correspondence.</li><li>Performs related work as assigned.</li></ul><br/><strong><u>General Description</u></strong><p>The purpose of this class within the organization is to assist in investigating Americans with Disabilities Act Accommodation requests, Civil Rights and Equal Employment Opportunity.
