Description of Duties/Essential Functions

Performs complex and specialized secretarial duties foran assignedcottage. Types correspondence which includes legal, medical and psychological terminology;composes and types routine correspondence; organizes and maintains filing system; answers telephone, relays messages, transfers calls, greets and directs visitors and responds to general inquiries. Opens, classifies and distributes mail to staff. Orders and maintains supplies.
Minimum Requirements

Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two years of office experience. Requires extensive knowledge of office practices, procedures, programs, composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation. Requires working knowledge of basic mathematics. Requires elementary knowledge of agency programs, rules and regulations. Requires ability to operate commonly used manual and automated office equipment and perform routine maintenance. Must be able to keyboard accurately 45 words a minute.
