POSITION: Mail Processor

CATEGORY: Civil Service Clerical

SALARY RANGE:  $32,973 to $52,414 per year

Duties and Responsibilities:

Mail handlers primarily work in large post offices and mail processing facilities, sorting and moving mail alongside postal clerks. The execution of the mail handler duties and the workload an individual worker takes on vary depending on the size of the facility and the amount of automation employed.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: A high school diploma or GED is generally required, and those with at least an associates degree in accounting and prior work experience may be preferred by some agencies. Paid training is available for entry-level positions who have prior education.
