The Intern Trainee classification is used to provide internship placements for students who seek a practical work experience in their academic field of study.
Theseinternshipswould assist child welfare/child protection social workers in areas such as initial case assessment and investigation, concurrent permanency planning, family support services, parent support outreach, and children mental health services that are in accordance with state law. These positions could also include working with children in out-of-home placements, juvenile court system (CHIPS), and interagency and community resources and services. Duties may include specific tasks assigned by social workers such as transporting of clients, supervising family visits, completing home safety checks, attending staffing meetings, making referrals to community resources, keeping case notes, in addition to other duties that will assist child protection staff.Work Environment

Internship will run June through August.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):
- Applicants must be a Junior, Senior or Graduate student in psychology, sociology, social work, or other human services related four year degree program; OR, must have graduated from a relatedfour year degree program within the last six months.
- Applicants must possess a valid driver's license.
Basic computer skills are necessary. Strong interpersonal skills with some understanding of public service and child protection social work would be preferred.
All candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will be forwarded to the appointing authority for consideration.
TENTATIVE RECRUITMENT &SCREENING PROCESS SCHEDULE:
- March 12, 2019-Applicant screening will begin.
- Week of April 15th -Interviewsbeing conducted
