THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania State Employees' Retirement System (SERS) is seeking a highly motivated fiscal technician to join our staff. Work Hours: A work schedule beginning and ending between 7:30 a.m. ? 5:00 p.m., inclusive, with a half hour or one-hour meal period will be considered, dependent on operational requirements. The requested work schedule may not end prior to 4:00 p.m. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a member of SERS-Office of Finance and Administration, you will perform a variety of duties focusing on helping SERS members supplement their retirement income through the voluntary Deferred Compensation Program (DCP). Key vital tasks include processing contributions, rollovers, benefit payments, and investment information, as well as performing day to day administrative duties. This person will also work closely with SERS employers, the fund custodian, and the Third-Party Administrator (TPA).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Qualifications:

  • Must meet PA residency requirement
  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements -one year as a Fiscal Assistant or three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or one year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
