<div id="job-source-10" class="job-source-10"> <div id="details-info" class="tab-pane active"> <dl><dt>Description of Work</dt> <dd><p>Salary Range: $48,051 - $86,431<br/>Salary Grade: GN13<br/><br/>The primary purpose of this position is to supervise the administration of grant funding for multiple federal and state grant programs which equals 500-600 open grants totaling approximately two hundred million dollars active in the state's criminal justice, juvenile justice, and victim's services community. The Director of Federal Compliance ensures that the entire staff of the Governor's Crime Commission (GCC) complies with fiscal and programmatic guidelines and serves as the liaison to DPS fiscal in managing the commission budget (federal and state components). This position also manages all federal and state audits both internal and external. The Director of Federal Compliance is a senior staff position that works closely with the Executive Director, Deputy Director and Director of Grants Management.</p></dd> <dt>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies</dt> <dd><p>Listed below are the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) associated with this position. Therefore, you must demonstrate or provide supporting information within the body of your application to demonstrate your possession of each KSA listed.<br/><br/><strong>Qualified applicants must possess, and applicant must clearly reflect work experience that demonstrates the following:</strong></p><ul><li>Must be familiar with federal procedure and regulations as it pertains to administering, monitoring, and compliance of federal criminal justice, juvenile justice and victim's services grants.</li><li>Must be able to present and teach others these regulations and requirements.</li><li>Requires considerable knowledge and experience of the federal grants planning and management.</li><li>Fiscal and budget experience similar to that of an accountant is required.</li><li>Good communications skills, oral and written.</li><li>Ability to work with people generally and especially with people who are in policy making positions.</li></ul><br/><strong><u>Management Preference</u></strong><br/>Knowledge of justice administration and the criminal justice system</dd> <dt>Minimum Education and Experience Requirements</dt> <dd><p>Bachelor's degree in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and two (2) years of accounting/auditing experience in the preparation of interpretive or analytical accounting/financial statements and reports; or Bachelor's degree in business administration or other field from an appropriately accredited institution with twelve (12) semester hours in accounting and two (2) years of experience as specified above; or Associate's degree in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and four (4) years of experience as specified above; or equivalent combination or education and experience.</p></dd> <dt>Supplemental and Contact Information</dt> <dd><p>The North Carolina Department of Public Safety (DPS) is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages qualified men and women to apply.
