<div id="job-source-10" class="job-source-10"> <div id="details-info" class="tab-pane active"> <dl><dt>Description</dt> <dd><p><img alt="" src="" style="height: 86.0px;width: 550.0px;"/></p><div style="text-align: justify;"><br/>Boulder County's Department of Housing and Human Services (DHHS) is hiring a <strong>Bilingual Parents as Teachers (PAT) Educator</strong>. The PAT Educator provides in home and community parenting support to families that supports their role in promoting school readiness and healthy development of their children. The PAT Educator will work with families with children ages prenatal to six who live within the Boulder County service area. PAT is an early childhood family support and parent education home-visiting model. PAT Educators work with families using an evidence-based curriculum.<br/><br/>This is an eclectic position that requires competency in both early childhood education and social work. Classroom management and therapeutic experience are a must.</div><br/>This is a <strong>full-time, benefited</strong> position with Boulder County. Work hours are <strong>flexible</strong> based on a<strong> <strong>Monday through Friday</strong></strong>, <strong>8:00 am to 4:30 pm </strong><strong>schedule</strong>. This position is primarily based in <strong>Longmont </strong>with frequent travel to other Boulder County communities. Under FLSAguidelines, this position is <strong>exempt</strong> from overtime.<br/><br/><strong>Hiring salary range:</strong> $49,884 to $60,864 annually<br/><strong>Classification salary range: </strong>$49,884 to $71,884 annually<br/></dd> <dt>Examples of Duties</dt> <dd><p></p><ol><li>Communicating and scheduling visits with families in Spanish and English, through reading, writing, and speaking</li><li>Assessing family needs using a variety of screening and assessment tools</li><li>Creating meaningful lesson plans for children and parents with family's goals in mind</li><li>Availability to conduct visits outside of regular business hours (weekend and evening hours) a plus</li><li>Maintain caseload of up to 20 families</li><li>Daily travel throughout the County</li><li>Deliver Parents as Teacher's curriculum to individual families</li><li>Function as client advocate with service providers and community resources</li><li>Assist in formulating basic plan to address families' needs</li><li>Facilitate bi monthly personal home visits that include lesson plans, parenting skills support, and referrals</li><li>Use screening tools to assess health, vision, hearing, and development</li><li>Use assessment tools to measure progress in school readiness, parenting skills, and family assessments</li><li>Maintain a variety of program and client records accurately and in a timely manner</li><li>Provide information to families and the public regarding programs</li><li>Provide outreach by working with community groups and contacts to locate families and assist them in obtaining services</li><li>Assist in the preparation of reports and budgets</li><li>Assist with monthly family group meetings</li><li>Perform related duties, as required</li><li>May be reassigned during emergency situations</li></ol></dd> <dt>Required Qualifications</dt> <dd><p/><div style="text-align: justify;"><br/><strong>PLEASE NOTE</strong>: When submitting your application be sure to include all relevant education and experience, as applications are screened based on the qualifications listed in this position announcement.
