<div id="job-source-10" class="job-source-10"> <div id="details-info" class="tab-pane active"> <dl><dt>Position Overview</dt> <dd><p/><div><strong>ABOUT THE POSITION:</strong><br/>The Advocate provides professional advocacy to crime victims including offering information, support, and resources in addition to serving as a liaison between a crime victim and the judicial system.</div></dd> <dt>Position Qualifications</dt> <dd><p/><div><strong>We recognize your time is valuable, so please apply if you meet the following <u>required qualifications</u>:</strong><br/><br/><strong><em>Education:</em></strong><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Family Studies, Psychology or other closely related behavioral or social science field.</li></ul><br/><strong><em>Experience:</em></strong><ul><li>Two (2) years of experience with victim advocacy, social work, crisis intervention and/or another closely related field which includes case management experience .<br/></li></ul><strong><em>Other requirements: </em></strong><ul><li>Must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona driver's license.</li></ul><br/><strong><em>Our preferred candidate has:</em></strong><br/><ul><li>Experience working in a criminal justice system.</li><li>Public service experience working in a victim/advocate related capacity.</li><li>Position may require the ability to speak, read, and write in the Spanish language.</li></ul></div></dd> <dt>Essential Job Tasks</dt> <dd><p/><ul><li>Provides information on victims' legal rights and protections according to Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.) 13-4400 through 13-4439.</li><li>Provides information on criminal justice process, serves as a court accompaniement and/or attend court proceedings with, or on behalf of, a victim.</li><li>Identifies resources for victims and makes referrals to various s</li><li>Provides crisis intervention/short term counseling.</li><li>Researches case status using numerous computer databases, in person or by phone.</li><li>Effectively manageslarge caseloads, documents, prepares reports and presents findings.</li><li>Ability to work in the presence of or with a trained canine that comforts victims.</li><li>Carries out the mission and vision of the division under the direction of the Division Chief.</li></ul><br/><strong><em>Working conditions:</em></strong><br/>Work occurs mostly in an office environment. Requires travel to and from job related locations during the course of a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding the use of County vehicles and/or private vehicles used on County business.
