Class Summary

This position is in the Employee Support and Training Division and performs a wide range of administrative and office support activities. Duties include multifaceted projects, human resources, risk management, employment/hiring, maintaining personnel files, special events, and associated activities. This position also serves as division liaison to other areas providing customer-focused support to achieve the department's goals and objectives, and performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Employee Support and Training Division oversees the department's Training Academy, Wellness and Support and Resources and Marketing Sections, which includes employment/HR/risk management, special events, projects, and marketing functions, including newsletters, website/intranet, and multi-media presentations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, or G.E.D.;
  • Valid driver's license from state of residency;
  • Two years of administrative support or related office experience;
  • Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • MUST SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE A COMPREHENSIVE BACKGROUND PROCESS, INCLUDING: CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE USE, CRIMINAL, DRIVING, AND EMPLOYMENT HISTORY CHECKS

* If you contribute at least 2.5% of your base pay to the 457(b) plan, Gwinnett County will contribute an additional 1% to your Defined Contribution Retirement Plan (this is in addition to the 7% described above).
